Then, while looking for a slow song at class as teaching music for Okie Boogie I grabbed this one in desperation and was surprised by the positive reaction, so here is the dance at last. I tried to give the dance the feel of the music, hence the rushes and taps and although it may be "tricky", don't think there are any difficult steps in it. I know "the kids" will hate the music, but they'll acquire taste as they mature - we just need to be patient with them, a real task at times I know!! This is from the same CD as my dances Okie Boogie and Out there Swinging, and although it is really choreographed for this particular song it is a swing rhythm so could be done to swing music about the same BPM. Something like James House's Real Good Way To Wind Up Lonesome will work even though it is a little faster, although I hate to recommend other songs as the haven't the feel for the dance that the suggested music has |
