* For the restart it is necessary to alter the unwind to do a full turn instead of the

usual 3/4 -  the turn is actually done this time on count 7 as you cross L over R,

then add an "&" count as you complete the turn and step the R foot slightly to the R

side before restarting - you will be facing the back wall.

COUNT SEQUENCE 32, 32, TAG-4, 32, RESTART-7&, 32, TAG-4, 32, 32, 20

This dance is song specific, and because the music appears to change tempo a few times

you need to change accordingly.  You start the dance a beat before the lyrics, and

then for most of the walls you will start with the lyric - don't blame me I didn't

write the song!

After the tag, hold slightly then step for count 1 with the lyrics - it is easy to

hear.

On the wall after the restart, count  9 ( after the unwind) seem faster than for the

other walls so you won't have the feeling of holding after the unwind turn.

At the end of the 6th wall which isn't really musically phrased, the instruments fade

a little and then pause briefly -  finish that 32 counts facing front then hold until

the voice finishes and restart on the first note of the piano (if you can catch it)

and you will finish the dance after count 18 by  stepping to the side on the L foot

and sliding the R beside it.

It sounds confusing but once you try it with the music I think it will all make

sense - otherwise just have a drink and enjoy the song !!!!!

This beautiful song  which sounds a little like a hymn I guess, was written for and

sung at  the Atlanta Olympics. I have had the CD for years and although I play it

frequently hadn't really thought of doing a dance to the song until I was looking for

music to use for a group dance at my Sunshine State Classic - it was never intended as

a class dance. Without wanting to sound maudlin, the words of this song express so

much about our times and the troubled year our planet is going through, and John

Berry's voice is so fantastic - so - here's the result. It was harder than I expected,

so I hope the sweat was worth it and you enjoy the dance - but more than that, I hope

you listen to the lyrics and enjoy the song.
